Years ago when I didn't drive I would sit in the passenger seat and take photos during trips home. Every once in a while I would get something to work with. I have painted this scene for years.

Another painting from the Nicole Turner trial in the 427th Judicial District Court. The charge was injury to a child. The child did not survive. The jury returned with a verdict of guilty and recommended a sentence of 35 years incarceration today. The center person is the 911 operator. To the left and right are the prosecutors.

I sat in on this trial a little this week. Very sad set of fact in the case. This is the defense lawyer and his client.

I'm sure everyone that paints in McKinney Falls State Park has painted the lower falls. Water was plentiful and that's a good thing her in Texas. This was completed on the first day maybe the 3rd painting

I can really drill down my scene in the landscape vision wise. What really drew my attention was the lack of branches. Refocus time.

I took this photo while walking around during SXSW. His parents were close at hand but his little expression was that of an old soul.

This is another plein air piece from McKinney Falls State Park visits. I was trying to honor the value scheme.

I started this one last week at the gallery. I'm posting this for analytical purposes. I'm not infatuated yet with it so stay tuned.

The man in the green shirt is what attracted me to this image. In Austin every corner has an inhabitant pf some sort. Some preach, make music, display themselves, etc.

This was started in the field but completed in the studio. This was the upper falls area of the park. The water reflections were amazing and constantly changing. I think the trees are cypress.

This is the first of the plein air sketches completed at McKinney Falls State Park in March of this year. I think it reflects the nervous energy one has in the initial minutes of starting a painting session outside.

Sometimes if you wait long enough you can get the sunset reflected in the surf. This was inspired by a photo taken in Fort Bragg, California from the balcony of the Beachcomber Motel. This was the second painting completed during my day of gallery duty. I really couldn't get my paint on as people were picking up and dropping off paintings for shows coming down and going up. I soldiered on anyway.
