Colorful Forest Floor

This park is such a beautiful place. It smells good, the light is just right and its cold. I actually went down a small hill to get to this area. I should have worn different shoes etc. It was worth it just to see the stream.

Shoal Creek Anderson Lane

I like this view of Shoal Creek. It is on Anderson lane close to my gallery space. This is a small watercolor exploratory study.

Pink Window

A little plein air sketch on copper. I was attracted to the windows and light on the buildings. I used both a brush and palette knife because I liked how the paint looked directly from the knife on the copper. The morning and afternoon light in Pam's neighborhood is amazing.

Dining Together

We went to the Richmond Marina area for the 4th of July. I had sketchbooks and paints in tow. I had a nice few hours to spend drawing and sketching the birds, people and landscape. They were feeding on something in the water so I got many sketches of them upside down grabbing food, floating, etc.

Painting two from my little visit to the grounds of our neighborhood library. I drew the images on site and painted them later from memory.

Almost A Dance

A few weekends ago I noticed these flowers near the Westbank Library. Later that day, I went over and did the initial drawing for this painting. I worked on arches hule paper which is for oils. I finished the painting from memory later. This is one of many flower portraits done that day.

Model on Blue

This painting was started earlier this year when I was filmed painting this model in my studio. The initial sketch was in graphite on Fisher 400 pastel paper in a square format. I later added the pastel from memory.

This is another piece the was initially sketched during the Art Model show this year. The sketch was done on Arches oil paper in ink. I later painted it from memory as photos were not allowed.
Pam took me into the city for lunch and a little sketching. This is a page from my Khadi sketchbook.
